1. Bookings

How far in advance do I need to book a Mystery Adventure?

All bookings for any self-guided Mystery Adventure need to be made 6-days in advance of your preferred adventure date. For example, if you would like to book for a Sunday, you must ensure you have booked by midnight on the Sunday prior.

Is payment required in full when booking a Mystery Adventure?

Yes, that is correct. When booking any self-guided mystery adventure, payment is required in full to secure your booking. We do not take deposits, and we do not offer buy now, pay later services. 

 

Can I add Mystery Accommodation to my Mystery Adventure booking?

Yes, of course! To ensure the fun continues, you can solve clues to find a 

mystery stay at a 4-to-5-star hotel or a unique holiday rental after your mystery adventure. Pricing generally starts from $200+ a night, with breakfast options available. We can even arrange a dinner reservation at a mystery restaurant for you to enjoy on the night of your stay.

What dietary requirements can you cater for on your Mystery Adventures?

Our adventures can be customised to be completely gluten-free, 

lactose-free/dairy-free or vegetarian at no extra cost. When booking, please let us know which dietary requirement it is, and we will work to ensure your tour adheres to those requirements.  

 

We also do our best to cater for pregnancy and vegan requirements and nut allergies when requested. However, for any other dietary requirements or allergies, please contact us before booking, as additional fees may occur. 

 

Please note that whilst we do our very best to comply with any dietary requirement requests, all food items are prepared by third-party suppliers. Therefore, we cannot guarantee all requests will be completely free of that particular product or allergy. Consequently, we recommend reconfirming your dietary requirements and/or allergies with the staff at each mystery stop.

 

2. Your Experience

 

What if I need to make changes to or cancel my Mystery Adventures booking?

If you wish to make changes to or cancel your Mystery Adventures Experience, you can request the following:

 

  • Changes or cancellation of any self-guided experience (excluding experiences with accommodation) up until 3 business days (excluding public holidays) before your experience date.
  • Changes or cancellations for any self-guided experience with accommodation up until 7 business days before your experience date. 

Changes include, but are not limited to, the adventure itself, date, time, people and/or dietary requirements. Any changes after the above times may incur an additional cost.

 

Likewise, any cancellations will follow our refund policy as listed in our Terms & Conditions. Requests for refunds due to cancellations after the above times will not be refunded or only partially refunded due to service and supplier costs already incurred.  

 

What if the weather is terrible on the day of my Mystery Adventure?

Not to worry - almost all of our Mystery Adventures can be completed in any weather condition! However, if you would like to change the date of your experience because of the weather, please ensure that you provide us with 3-business days' notice to avoid rescheduling fees. We also recommend keeping an eye on the long-range forecast to help with your decision!

 

When will I receive the clues for my Mystery Adventure?

On the evening before your Mystery Adventure tour, you will receive an SMS with a link to access your first clue. Your first clue allows you to determine your experience's starting location. Hence, we recommend solving it as soon as possible so you can estimate your travel time to that location.

The rest of your clues will then be sent to you via SMS on the day of your tour. Please note that internet access will be required to view your clues.

 

3. Families & Group Sizes

Do you have any Mystery Adventures for families?

Yes, almost all of our adventures can easily be adapted to be family-friendly. If you would like to make a booking for your family, please contact us with the experience you are looking to do and the ages of your children. We will then confirm any adaptions we need to make and provide you with a unique code you can use at checkout to unlock discount pricing for your children.

Please note we do not charge for children under 4 years of age and children over 12 years of age are considered adults on our adventures.

Do you offer Mystery Adventures for large groups (10+ people)?

Yes, we sure do! In most cases, we can either adapt any of our current experiences to suit your group or alternatively, we can create a bespoke adventure for you. Please contact us to discuss your group size, preferred dates and what type of tour you are looking to do.

4. Gift Cards

Can I purchase a gift voucher for a specific experience?

Yes, you can gift a specific Mystery Adventures experience. To do so, please click here & choose the experience you would like to purchase. Please note that vouchers for specific experiences may take up to 24 hours to process. All experience vouchers are valid for three years from the purchase date. If unredeemed within the first 18 months, the voucher will automatically convert into a monetary value gift card, valid for an additional 18 months. This gift card will match the original voucher's value and can be used for any of our available adventures.

How do I redeem my gift card?

To redeem your Mystery Adventures Gift Card, select your desired adventure and enter your voucher code in the "Gift card or discount code" section during checkout.

Please note that if you have historically received an Experience Voucher (e.g., Mystery Picnic for 2) and it remains unredeemed for 18 months, it will automatically convert into a monetary value gift card. The value will correspond to the original price of the experience voucher and will remain valid for the remaining voucher period. This monetary value gift card can be used towards any of our currently available adventures.

What if my gift card has expired?

If your Mystery Adventures Gift Card has expired or is close to expiring (within 90 days), you may request a 90-day extension. Please note that a $30 extension fee will apply.

However, if your Mystery Adventures Gift Card has expired for more than 90 days, it cannot be extended under any circumstances. It is considered invalid and non-refundable, either partially or in full.

I received a gift card but have lost it. How can I find it?

If you've misplaced your gift card, we may be able to help you locate it. Please contact us and provide the purchaser's name and either their email address or mobile phone number. If we cannot find the voucher with this information, you might need to contact the purchaser for the original order number or receipt.

How long are your gift cards valid for?

All gift cards and gift vouchers are valid for three years from the purchase date and can be used for any available Mystery Adventures experience.

Please note that if you purchased a specific Mystery Adventures Gift Voucher (e.g., a Mystery Picnic on the Mornington Peninsula) and it remains unredeemed within the first 18 months, the voucher will automatically convert into a monetary value gift card. This gift card will be valid for an additional 18 months, matching the original voucher's value and usable for any of our available adventures.
